Join the DMV for an evening of Traditional Jazz, Rhythm & Blues, Soul and Originals. The Chef's will be cookin' up some great tastes, Chris will be shakin' up the cocktails, and we'll be swingin' the tunes for you on the dance floor.
An evening of hand crafted beers, delicious BBQ and the best live blues music. There will be two acts for the evening.
Kicking off the night will be a blues combo featuring Rob Hunter on drums and "Detroit" Mike Hepner on keyboards from the Elwood Splinters Blues Band. These guys really know how to cook! Joining them will be Danny Dine on guitar and Venitia Sekema on vocals from the DMV Trio, a newer Blues & Jazz trio from South West Michigan. The feature of the evening is the very talented Keith Scott. He'll be performing some of his "down home" and original blues. Keith is one of the best and most respected artists on the Chicago blues scene today!
Sharing this beautiful stage and historic venue with 3 very talented singer/songwriters - storytellers is a dream come true.
MEGAN KING
Megan King sings like a wild bird. She picks a mean guitar. And she writes songsānot just doodles but songs: musical pieces with a beginning, a middle, and an end, actual songs with a structure and a point.

MATTHEW GATES
About Matthew Gates
Matt was born in a town in rural Indiana. Growing up, he would constantly see his mother's dusty old guitar sitting in the corner, but nobody ever played it. At the age of 17 Matt decided he wanted to learn guitar...so he could meet girls. Well, he got it half right anyway. He started taking lessons, but after a year or so, he stopped taking them as he wasn't learning what he wanted to learn, so he struck out on his own. After a few years he started playing for some of his friends and decided to try his hand at songwriting. He took to it right away and wrote a ton of god awful songs that he thought were the bomb diggity...until he actually started playing open mics around his home town of Fort Wayne, Indiana, on a dare, in 2000 and heard what real songwriters were doing. Suitably chastened, Matt worked to hone his songwriting and eventually his songs started getting better, eventually winning Whatzup Whammy for the Best New Solo Performer 2001. In 2002, Matt formed a band called Edmund's Folly. After a rough start EF finally got off the ground and started performing in early 2003. After a year of performing EF was starting to make a name for itself and had even recorded an EP when circumstances dictated that Edmund's Folly break up in early 2004. Matt took a year long hiatus from playing out to work on his songwriting and then re-entered the performance arenaand has since relocated to Nashville, TN in an attempt to further his music career, and to meet all those girls that are into singer/songwriters that he keeps hearing about, but has yet to see in person.

Friday night concert at the bandshell on the bluff.
This outdoor street corner concert put on by the New Buffalo business association has been a favorite of mine to play. Each weekend in New Buffalo you'll hear live music on the corner of Merchant and Whittaker. Come shop, eat and enjoy great music.
New World Arts serves as a small concert venue for musicians of diverse styles. It is home to the "Live" concert series, held only a few times a year, featuring decadent desserts, hot beverages and wines for the audience to enjoy. This semi-formal atmosphere is a great place to enjoy an after dinner concert in an intimate setting.
The stage is located upstairs, reminiscent of a downtown, SoHo music salon. Original music is encouraged, so please come to enjoy jazz, blues and folk music in it's acoustic form. More information will be posted about this event later this summer, but to learn about this lovely place, the other offerings, & a map to the location, please visit the website.
